German Shepherd Dog - Mason - Medium - Adult - Male - Dog
Mason was surrendered by his owners on 4/16/12. He was adopted from our shelter back in 2010, and they are no longer able to keep him because they could not keep him from running loose. He is 7-8 years old now, and is a medium sized, Shepherd/Chow mix. This poor dog has a sad story of never finding a forever home. He was originally found as a stray running loose back in 2006. Since then he has been adopted 3 times and returned each time. The first home was a family with younger children, and they were forced to return him in 2008 because they were moving. The second home we adopted him to was a single woman, but she did not have time for him and gave him away to someone else. When Mason was found running loose in different town than he was adopted to in Dec. 2010, we brought him back to our shelter to find him a responsible home. This most recent adoptive home had another dog, cats and older kids. He was playful and friendly, but was constantly running loose. Instead of trying to keep him from running loose, they decided to bring him back to us. We were shocked to see him come back, as he has always been such a good dog. So, over the years, Mason has been bounced from home to home, and really deserves to find a permanent and loving home. He has been around younger kids, but is most comfortable with kids over 5. Cats and other mellow dogs are okay too, as he has lived with them and they peacefully coexisted. He has always been eager to meet new people and go for walks/hikes. He is still an active and energetic dog, and would love to be adopted into a responsible home that will keep him on leash or have a fenced yard to exercise with him in. Mason has already been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He would love a home that will be able to spend time with him and give him the attention he deserves after being brought back so many times.
